Kundara
Kundara is a place located in Kollam district of Kerala, India. Its main center is at Mukkada. It is famous for many activities.
Kundara is about 18 km from Kollam. The town is well-known for the China clay deposits. These deposits helped in the establishment of the Government Ceramics concerns here. Aluminium Industries (ALIND), one of the leading Indian firms manufacturing aluminium cables, is situated here.
Kundara Railway Station, the local railhead, is on the Kollam-Sivakasi rail route. Nearest airport is Trivandrum International Airport.
There are many big industries like KEL, Ceramics, Alind etc. Astamudi lake is in this area. Here we will get a special fish called 'Kari meen' (in malayalam language) is very tasty and nutritious. Once you eat means you cant forget it ever.
Kundara Proclamation by Velu Thampi Dalawa is very famous due to its vital role in Indian independence. That was in 19th century at Elampalloor (nr by temple). Now a monument is constructed by the government for him.
There are various temples and churches in this area. Elampalloor temple is very famous. Its annual celebration is in the month of April. At that day, all peoples with celebrate this festival without considering any religious thinking.
Valiya palli at Pallimukku is a christian church, a very ancient church. Elampalloor mosque is very famous for its purity.
